LCC Ltd: GO Carrickfergus 

GO, part of the Cookstown based energy company LCC Group, is set to open their second fully automated site at Belfast Road, Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim on the 20th September 2010.

The new site in Carrickfergus follows the successful opening of LCC's first GO Pay@Pump site in Cookstown in August 2008. GO's philosophy is to offer competitive pricing along with convenience and time efficiency. As with Cookstown, the 24hr site will be run solely by innovative Pay@Pump technology provided by HTEC Ltd.

Competitive pricing and convenience in the current financial climate has proved to be extremely successful for GO and, in addition, drive-offs without payment have been eliminated. Customers like the convenience of being able to fuel 24hrs a day and parents with young children are happy not to have to leave their children unattended in the car whilst they pay for their fuel.

LCC's Marketing Manager Lynn Barker explains how the site operates and why the company has decided to introduce another site of this nature to Northern Ireland:

"The site is fully-automated which means there's no requirement for it to be manned or have an adjoining shop. Although this is an unsual system for Northern Ireland, it's very simple to use and has the advantage of reducing a station's overheads. This translates into competitive fuel prices for our customers and, given the current economic climate, we felt it was the right time to introduce another site of this nature."

"The forecourt format is very easy to use - customers simply drive to a pump where they'll be prompted to insert a credit or debit card, enter their PIN, fill their tank as required, replace the nozzle, collect receipt and drive off. We accept all major credit and debit cards and supply a complete fuel package including: Unleaded Petrol, Super Unleaded, Diesel, GasOil and Kerosene (home heating oil)."

HTEC were the first company to gain Chip & PIN approval for outdoor payment terminals and since then have continued to enhance their product offering and services.
